FP – Fire Protection
Fire protection (FP) within a commercial company represents a set of systematic measures that the employer is obliged to ensure in accordance with Act No. 314/2001 Coll. on fire protection. These measures are aimed at preventing fires and protecting the life, health of persons, property and the environment.
Legal obligations in the field of FP
The basic obligations of the employer in fire protection include:
- applying general principles of fire prevention when implementing necessary measures
- conducting preventive fire inspections and subsequently eliminating identified deficiencies
- preparing and maintaining required FP documentation
- ensuring regular, demonstrable and comprehensible familiarization of employees with FP regulations
- organizing training and verifying knowledge of employees, as well as persons present in facilities with the consent of a legal or natural person
Risks arising from non-compliance with FP obligations
Insufficient fulfillment of FP obligations can lead to:
- occurrence of a fire that can seriously endanger the health and lives of employees
- causing significant damage to property and environmental damage
- imposition of fines up to €8,298, while in case of repeated violation within three years, this amount can be increased to up to €16,596
