Participants will acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the safe operation of lifting equipment with a focus on OHS.

Scope of the lifting equipment course

Participation requirements

Completed compulsory school attendance, age at least 18 years, medical fitness certificate not older than 6 months.

Course scope

Basic course: 24 hours. Repeated familiarization: 3 hours. Update professional training: 6 hours.

Repeated familiarization and update training

Familiarization with regulatory changes every 12 months (Decree 147/2013, §3 para. 1). Update training every 5 years (Act 124/2006, §16 para. 8).

Types of lifting equipment

Overhead cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes, column cranes and other lifting equipment.

Group B

Ba – crane and powered hoist up to 1000 kg and powered winch; Bb – lifting mechanism of a transport truck and loader; Bc – auxiliary lifting accessories for suspending or gripping a load; Bd – special powered lifting equipment (lifting ramp, platform, service lift, tail lift for loading/unloading); Be – construction goods hoist with no access for persons; Bf – powered vertical sliding gate with a lift height over 2.7 m; Bg – rack stacker crane with no operator station; Bh – manually powered stage equipment; Bi – stairlift and vertical lifting platform for persons with reduced mobility.

Group C

Ca – load-binding and suspension devices (slinging rope, chain, strap, belt, hook, shackle); Cb – lifting technical equipment that is part of a work appliance (production line, machine, automated system); Cc – lifting technical equipment assembled on a one-off basis (assembly purposes, transport); Cd – other Group B lifting technical equipment that is manually powered.
